MARKELL SINGLETON

Markell Singleton is a clarinetist specializing in single reed pedagogy, and he has been based in St. Louis since 2020. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studied under Dr. Anthony Taylor and Dr. Kelly Burke as the recipient of the prestigious 1944 School of Music Scholarship.
Before his undergraduate studies, Markell attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, where he was admitted as a sophomore through the prodigy/early enrollment program and earned a high school diploma in music.
As a passionate and energetic educator, Markell brings enthusiasm and a deep love of music to every lesson. His teaching philosophy centers on inspiring students through joyful engagement and a strong foundation in musical technique.
