PERFORMANCE TRAINING
Mark Saunders is a native St. Louisan who holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Lindenwood University. As a triple-threat tenor, actor, and dancer, Mark was in the national tour for Something Rotten! and has performed in numerous regional theater productions. He has performed locally at The Muny, The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater, STAGES St. Louis, and Stray Dog Theater and with the St. Louis Symphony.
From Donizetti to Sondheim, Mark has had the opportunity to perform a variety of roles. Despite being born without a left ear and being diagnosed as tone-deaf at a young age, his determination led him to take voice and piano lessons, which laid the groundwork for a lifelong love of performance.
In 2017, he created his own one-man cabaret, Everything’s Fine: A Bear in Search of His Honey. This heartfelt production explores the rollercoaster of his journey to find love, touching on the ups and downs, the good and the bad, and the tops and bottoms. Through a blend of humor and storytelling, this show shares personal experiences in a way that truly connects with the audience.
A word from Mark: “In addition to performing, I’m passionate about coaching the next generation of artists. I focus on audition techniques, acting through song, and adapting vocal approaches for different genres of music. I’m so excited to join the amazing faculty at Shock City School of Music!”
