KENT ROUSSEAU

PIANO, VOICE

Kent is a professional piano player and singer, with a bachelor’s degree in jazz piano from the University of North Texas College of Music. During his time there, he studied with world-class jazz and classical piano professors. He developed his strong skills in performance by playing piano in the school's prestigious jazz bands and by singing in the vocal jazz ensemble.

Before joining the team at Shock City School of Music, Kent worked internationally as a cruise ship musician. He performed six nights a week as a Billy Joel-style piano bar entertainer, specializing in all the greatest hits from the 1940s to 1980s. This gig took him all around the globe, everywhere from Egypt to Australia to even Antarctica!

In 2026, Kent moved back home to St. Louis, and started teaching at Shock City School of Music. His approach to teaching highlights the fun and excitement of learning a new talent, while also focusing on keeping a disciplined practice routine.
