ETHAN FORTE

CELLO, VOICE, COMPOSITION

Ethan Forte is a native to Columbia, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) with a double major in Music Composition and Music Education, with a certificate in Multicultural Studies in the Spring of 2021. He attended Mizzou under the Sinquefield Scholarship, and was also awarded the William and Stella Pommer Scholarship in the Spring of 2017.

As a composer, has written for numerous groups; including Roomful of Teeth, The St. Louis Symphony, Columbia Chamber Choir, the Odyssey Chamber Series, Mizzou New Music Ensemble, Mizzou Cello Choir, and the Rock Bridge High School Chamber Orchestra. Last year, Forte worked as the Oakland Middle School Orchestra Director, Battle High School Music Theory Teacher and the Fulton Presbyterian Choir Director. He has spent the past five years teaching a studio of cello and voice students and looks forward to continuing to teach in the St. Louis area.

In St. Louis, Forte is working towards completing his Master’s Degree in Music Composition at Webster University, while also studying teaching pedagogy, choral techniques, and strings chamber music. He currently serves as a sacred Music Director and teaches private music lessons in multiple capacities, including cello, voice, and beginning musicians.
