Diane Watson


Diane Toomey, Voice and Piano Instructor, was born and raised in the Chicago area,and moved to St. Louis in 2016. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Her primary instrument is voice, and her secondary is piano.

During her college career, Diane sang as a member of the Northern Illinois University Concert Choir and Chamber Choir. During that time, she got to travel to New York to perform at the Lincoln Center, and traveled to Canterbury, England to perform at the Canterbury Cathedral. Diane also toured with the NIU Jazz Ensemble as its featured vocalist, performing alongside professional jazz saxophonist, Don Braden. In addition to her experiences at NIU, she has been a backup singer for a blues rock band, and has acted and sung in many plays and musicals. She also started the a capella vocal quartet, Vox Vitae, which has performed at numerous business events and private concert venues. Since moving from Chicago to St. Louis, Diane has been singing with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, and performed with the group at Carnegie Hall.

Diane has experience teaching Elementary General Music, as well as Junior High & High School Chorus. She has been teaching private voice and piano lessons for over 5 years. She really enjoys teaching young musicians, but can train any age or maturity level. She believes that music is for everyone, and its never too early or too late to begin your music education!
